A search for a parole absconder resulted in his arrest and the arrest of his girlfriend at her apartment. According to the Mountain Home Police Department, 40-year-old Michael Vetor of Gassville and 34-year-old Brianna Barnes of Mountain Home were booked into the Baxter County Detention Center Friday evening on multiple charges. Barnes posted bond nearly three hours later, but Vetor remains incarcerated.
Officers went to the apartment attempting to locate Vetor identified as the parole absconder. They made contact with Barnes who reportedly stated Vetor was not there. The officers conducted a check of the apartment based on information from Criminal Investigation Division officers that Vetor was staying there. One of the officers noticed the bathroom door was closed, and someone was allegedly pushing against the door when tried to open it. Vetor was located once the door was open, and he and Barnes were both placed into custody.
Officers then located a loaded .45 caliber high-point firearm with its serial numbers filed off on the floor next to the bathroom. Barnes reportedly stated the gun was not Vetor’s, but he was fixing it for someone. Vetor allegedly stated he would inform the officers where the pistol came from if they didn’t arrest his girlfriend. Officers then reportedly located syringes, digital scales and several empty plastic baggies containing a residue of a white crystalline substance.
Vetor faces felony counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of firearms by certain persons, possession of a defaced firearm and a parole violation, and his bond is set at $50,000. Barnes was charged with felony counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and hindering apprehension or prosecution, and she was released after posting $5,000 bond. Both are scheduled to appear in Baxter County Circuit Court.
