After a day off Monday, the St. Louis Cardinals return to action Tuesday night at home when they begin a three-game series against Pittsburgh.
The Cardinals trail Chicago by 4 1/2 games in the National League Central. St. Louis still leads the National Leauge wild card standings.
Jack Flaherty (7-6) starts for the Cardinals Tuesday night while Ivan Nova (7-8) goes for the Pirates.
