PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) _ Police in south-central Arkansas have responded to four killings in a span of three days.

Pine Bluff police say an unidentified man was fatally shot in the chest late Tuesday. Police spokesman Richard Wegner says the man was taken to a hospital but pronounced dead on arrival.

Wegner says officers are still waiting for a search warrant to learn more about where the crime took place. He says police have identified a person of interest but wouldn’t say whether the man was a suspect.

The Tuesday death is the fourth one that officers have investigated since Sunday. Police say there’s no immediate indication that any of the homicides were related.

Police say there have been 16 homicides reported in the city this year, three fewer than this time last year.
