Failure to stop at an intersection in Marion County has led to a traffic stop and the arrest of a North Little Rock woman later observed walking in an odd manner.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Friday, an Arkansas State Police trooper reported when 54-year-old Kelly Harvey exited her vehicle following the traffic stop in July, he noticed her walking in an odd manner, trying to keep her legs pinched together and covering her upper thighs with paper.

When the officer asked Harvey to come toward him, she complied. But while walking toward him, Harvey dropped the papers she had in her hand, revealing a large bulge in her shorts on her right leg. When questioned, the woman retrieved a clear plastic container with a yellow lid from her shorts and handed it to the officer.

Upon inspection, it was noted the container was partially filled with a white crystal substance, later field testing positive for methamphetamine.

After transporting Harvey to the Marion County Detention Center, the trooper conducted a search of the back seat of his patrol unit. During the search, he located a clear plastic baggie containing a white crystal substance under the rear passenger side seat, where the suspect had been seated.

A short time later, a Marion County jailer advised a blue pill, believed to be clonazepam, had been located in Harvey’s wallet.

Her bond was set at $5,000 on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence, as well as a misdemeanor drug charge and two traffic offenses.
