One person was transported to Baxter Regional Medical Center Wednesday following a two-vehicle crash on the Sheid-Hopper Bypass at its intersection with Glenbriar Drive.

According to a Mountain Home Police Department report, the accident occurred when a vehicle driven by 74-year-old Charlotte Stone of Mountain Home entered the bypass from Glenbriar. A second vehicle driven by 22-year-old Caleb McClain of Batesville was traveling east on the bypass.

Stone failed to yield the right of way traveling north on Glenbriar, crossing the eastbound lane of the bypass. McClain was unable to stop his vehicle due to the wet and rainy conditions, striking the left side of Stone’s vehicle.

Stone then crossed the centerline, with her vehicle spinning counter clockwise before coming to its final rest facing west in the center grassy median of the bypass. McClain’s vehicle came to rest on the shoulder of the bypass.

Stone was transported by ambulance to BRMC with what was reported as suspected serious injury. The report noted possible injury to McClain.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene of the 3:08 p.m. accident.
