The former Journey singer also has debuted a performance video for the tune, similar to the one he made for the new album’s first single, “No Erasin’.” The clip, which you can watch at StevePerry.com and at Steve’s official YouTube channel, shows him crooning the soulful rock ballad in the same studio space and with the same musicians featured in the “No Erasin'” video.
“‘No More Cryin” is a love song but not in the way you would think,” Perry explains in a statement. “It starts in one place, and builds and lands somewhere entirely different. It’s got many overtones and can be applied to so many different kinds of relationships, including my own relationship with past isolation.”
Steve co-wrote the track with Grammy-winning songwriter Dan Wilson, who’s worked with Adele, The Dixie Chicks and many others and used to front the band Semisonic.
Pre-order Traces and you’ll receive both “No More Cryin'” and “No Erasin'” as instant free downloads. The album will be released on October 5 and will be available on CD, on 180-gram vinyl and digitally. You can also purchase special bundles, signed items and Perry merchandise at Traces.StevePerry.com.
