The size of the offensive and defensive lines for Nettleton proved to be the difference Friday night as the Raiders cruised past the Bombers. Brad Haworth has the story.
Listen:
With several linemen weighing over 300 pounds, Nettleton was able to control both the offensive and defensive lines of scrimmage and win the contest 43-7. Nettleton racked up 420 yards of total offense while the Bombers had 132.
The Raiders built a 30-0 lead by halftime. Nathan Young got the scoring started for Nettleton on their first possession with a 69 yard touchdown run. Cade Carter then tossed three touchdown passes in the first half, hooking up with Terrell Rogers from 29 yards out, he then hit Damien Williams with T.D. pass from 32 yards and on the final play of the half tossed a one yard scoring strike to Martavious Cain.
Nettleton also got two points when Mountain Home had a high snap on a punt that went out of the end zone.
The Raiders finished out the scoring with a one yard scoring yard by Young and a 70 yard touchdown run from Marion McFadden.
Mountain Home’s score came on a two yard run by Junior Williams that capped an 11-play 60-yard drive late in the fourth quarter.
Mountain Home falls to 0-3 while Nettleton improves to 3-0. The Bombers are off next week and will open conference play September 21st at home against Jonesboro.
