Collier Schorr, exclusively for GQAs part of the promotional blitz for his new album Egypt Station, Paul McCartney covers the latest issue of GQ. In the lengthy interview, the rock legend shares some very candid experiences he had as a young man — including an where he, John Lennon and a few other male friends pleasured themselves while in the same room.
“[I] was over at John’s house, and it was just a group of us. And instead of just getting roaring drunk and partying…we were all just in these chairs, and the lights were out, and somebody started masturbating, so we all did,” McCartney remembers.
Paul recalls that as the participants concentrated on what they were doing, they’d yell out the name of various people who they felt might, um, inspire them.
“We were just, ‘Brigitte Bardot!’ ‘Whoo!'” McCartney notes, “and then everyone would thrash a bit more.”
Paul then recalls that John, always known for his irreverent sense of humor, yelled out, “Winston Churchill!”
McCartney maintains that while the incident was “quite raunchy,” he considered it “good harmless fun,” adding, “It didn’t hurt anyone. Not even Brigitte Bardot.”
At another point in the interview, McCartney is asked about rumors that The Beatles took part in sex orgies during the height of their fame.
Paul says that to his knowledge, “there weren’t really orgies,” but he remembers that when the band was in Las Vegas, a tour rep offered him the opportunity to sleep with a prostitute, and he requested two of them.
“I had them, and it was a wonderful experience,” McCartney declares. “But that’s the closest I ever came to an orgy.”
