Bryan Vonalt, who is serving a sentence in the state prison system on an earlier conviction, was given two additional years after pleading guilty to drug and traffic violations during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court last week.
The 55-year-old Vonalt was arrested in mid-March when a Mountain Home police officer stopped the vehicle he was driving after observing an equipment violation.
During the stop, the officer determined Vonalt also had a suspended driver’s license, fictitious license plates and no current insurance coverage.
Following Vonalt’s arrest on the traffic infractions, the officer conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered several unused syringes, and one loaded syringe containing a clear liquid field testing positive for methamphetamine.
The sentence handed down last week will run concurrent with the one Vonalt is currently serving.
