MH heads to Pine Bluff for 1st conference road game

It’s the midway point of the high school football season in Arkansas, and Mountain Home will be on the road for the first time in conference play on Friday. The Bombers’ week five opponent will be Pine Bluff.
Mountain Home comes into the game at 0-4 on the season and 0-1 in the 6A-East. The Bombers fell to Jonesboro last week at home. Pine Bluff is currently ranked fifth in Class 6A by the Arkansas Sports Media. The Zebras are 1-2-1 and 1-0 after defeating Sylvan Hills last Friday in Sherwood.
Mountain Home head coach Bryan Mattox says the Bombers will once again have their hands full with Pine Bluff.

Kickoff at Jordan Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com. Coverage begins at 5:30 with the Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas High School Gameday.
Elsewhere in the 6A-East, Searcy travels to West Memphis, Jonesboro makes the trip to Jacksonville, and Sylvan Hills heads to Marion.

Yellville-Summit returns home for the first time in three weeks. This will be the first home game in 3A-2 action for the Panthers as they meet Harding Academy.
Yellville-Summit is 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the league. The Panthers’ first conference game was last week when they lost at Melbourne. Harding Academy is 2-2 and 0-1. The Wildcats got beat up by Clinton a week ago in Searcy.
Kickoff at Panther Field is set for 7:00.
Also in the 3A-2, Melbourne hosts Clinton, and Marshall travels to Newark to take on Cedar Ridge.

Elsewhere on the local Arkansas schedule, Salem makes the trip to Rector, and Harrison entertains Clarksville for Homecoming.
There are two games matching up teams in the Arkansas Sports Media top ten. Top-ranked North Little Rock heads to No. 2 Conway, and No. 8 Pulaski Academy is home against tenth-ranked Little Rock Christian.

The regular season will be two-thirds complete in Missouri after Friday. Among area schools, West Plains travels to Springfield to face Parkview, Hollister hosts Reeds Spring, Forsyth makes the trip to Kansas City to play Pembroke Hill, Branson heads to Carthage, Ava entertains Houston, Willow Springs is home against Salem, Missouri, Mountain View-Liberty hosts Mountain Grove for Homecoming, and Thayer entertains Cabool.
