The Mountain Home Education Foundation Night of Honors is less than a week away. One of the honorees will be former Mountain Home High School custodian Marvin Kunz when he receives the Earnest Perry Award.
Kunz says it came as a little bit of a shock when he heard he was going to be honored.
Listen:
Kunz retired from Mountain Home this past school year after having served the district for nearly 15 years. He and his wife moved to the Twin Lakes Area from Chicago not expecting to go to work on the high school campus, but he feels a sense of pride having served the school district and the local community.
Listen:
Kunz says he took pride in the job he did in not only making sure the students had a clean place to learn, but also a safe one. A particular incident stands out.
Listen:
Kunz will be given the Earnest Perry Award at the Night of Honors scheduled for Thursday evening at Big Creek Golf and Country Club. Reservations can be made by contacting the Mountain Home Education Foundation office or the Mountain Home School District administration office.
