An Ozark County man will spend the next 12 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. According to the Ozark County Times, 59-year-old Danny Williams of Udall received his sentence Oct. 4th after pleading guilty to a felony count of first-degree child molestation before Circuit Judge Craig Carter in Wright County Court.
Williams was originally charged with statutory sodomy of a child, after a woman met with Ozark County Chief Deputy Winston Collins in January 2016. She reported her 7-year-old child told her Williams had touched her inappropriately on multiple occasions when he babysat the child.
Williams will have to complete the Missouri Sex Offender Program before he’s eligible for parole. He’ll also have to register as a sex offender.
The case was transferred to Wright County from Ozark County in December 2016 on a change of venue motion. Williams was represented by Springfield-area defense attorney Ryan Reynolds. Ozark County Prosecuting Attorney John Garrabrant represented the state of Missouri.
