A Baxter County woman, 34-year-old Brandi Withrow of Norfork, has been arrested and charged with a felony count of damaging wires of telephone cable and electric companies, as well as two misdemeanor counts of theft of property and theft of services for damaging utility property.According to the probable cause affidavit filed Wednesday, a member services supervisor for North Arkansas Electric Cooperative was performing a routine inspection along Fountain Trail in Norfork in mid August.
During the inspection, the supervisor discovered the seal on an electric meter had been tampered with, the meter had been removed, and jumpers placed on the contacts to allow the electricity to flow to the residence.
Withrow’s account with the electric cooperative was already delinquent. The cooperative estimated over $142 of electricity had been fraudulently consumed, and the cost of the missing meter is an additional $400.
Withrow’s bond was set at $1,500.
