3 MHJH football teams play Monday, 2 get wins

Three Mountain Home Junior High football teams played at two sites Monday night picking up a pair of wins and a tie.

The tie happened in Little Rock where the Junior Bombers tied J.A. Fair 6-6. Mountain Home’s Xavier Anderson scored on a 20-yard run with just over four minutes left to tie the game but the snap on the extra point try went awry. The Junior Bombers then made a final stand to preserve the tie with Brody Patterson knocking down a pass in the end zone with six seconds left.
Patterson led the offense with 110 rushing yards on just five carries.

The 8th Grade Bombers were 6-0 winners at Huntsville. Shane Rowden scored the game’s only touchdown and Brady Barnett intercepted a pass in the end zone with 27 seconds left to seal the win.
The 8th Grade Bombers finish the year with a record of 7-1.

The Mountain Home 7th grade team wrapped up their season with a 34-6 win at Huntsville. Scoring touchdowns for Mountain Home were Julian Cardenas, Will Cottongim, Brady Lance and Caleb Lynn.
