A 21-year-old Yellville man entered a guilty plea to drug-related charges during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.

Joseph Lamkin was put on probation for four years.

He was arrested in June when a Mountain Home police officer stopped a vehicle on U.S. Highway 62 East, after observing the license plate on the vehicle was expired, and the windshield was cracked.

The officer reported detecting the odor of burnt marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search turned up several Oxycodone pills and a marijuana pipe. Lamkin admitted he had purchased the Oxycodone for $15 a pill.

Lamkin was sentenced under provisions of Act 346, meaning if he stays out of trouble during his probation period, he can apply to the courts to have his record sealed.
