A Mountain Home woman has been arrested following an incident beginning when she reportedly demanded employees at a local business relinquish a vehicle to her belonging to an imprisoned Fulton County man.According to the probable cause affidavit, when law enforcement officers arrived at the business Oct. 18th, 40-year-old Theresa Taecker advised Kevin Burch, incarcerated in the Department of Correction, had asked her to come pick up his car. As evidence of her claim, Taecker reportedly allowed an officer to view text messages on her cellphone.

In reviewing her messages, it was discovered Taecker had allegedly purchased or attempted to purchase methamphetamine from a known local illegal drug dealer currently out on bond on multiple charges.

When questioned about the text, Taecker reportedly admitted to attempting to purchase methamphetamine. She also allegedly admitted using the illegal substance and went on to say she wished she had some meth at that time.

She was later drug tested by her probation officer with positive results for marijuana and meth, a violation of her Arkansas Department of Community Corrections terms.

Law officers believe Taecker’s cellphone contains information that would be helpful in identifying additional people associated with the sale and distribution of methamphetamine, leading to the seizure of the communication device.

At the time, Taecker provided officers with the pin number to unlock the device. It was checked, and the phone was accessible. With a search warrant obtained for the mirrored contents of the phone, law enforcement attempted to access the phone the following day. They discovered the pass code to unlock the phone has been changed remotely.

Taecker allegedly admitted to changing the passcode and refused to produce it.

She has been charged with felony counts of unlawful use of a communication device and tampering with evidence, as well as a misdemeanor count of obstructing governmental operations.

Her bond was set at $10,000.
