
The Cotter High School volleyball team was the only area team to win their first round match at the state volleyball tournaments Tuesday. The Lady Warriors won their opening round match at the Class 2A State Tournament at Crowley’s Ridge Academy in Paragould 3-0 over Marianna Lee.
The Lady Warriors won by scores of 25-11, 25-17 and 25-13 to improve to 8-11 on the year. They will face Conway St. Joseph, who is 25-4, in the quarterfinals Wednesday afternoon at 1:00.
Flippin lost their match in the 2A state tourney to Crowley’s Ridge Academy 3-0. The Lady Bobcats lost by scores of 25-7, 25-4 and 25-16. They finish the year with a record of 9-12.
Yellville-Summit lost their opening round match to Ridgefield Christian 3-1. The Lady Panthers lost by scores of 25-11, 22-25, 25-12 and 25-15. They finish the season with a record of 14-9.
Harrison was upset in the opening round of the Class 4A State Tournament at Mena, losing 3-2 to Wynne. The Lady Goblins fell by scores of 16-25, 15-25, 25-14, 25-22 and 12-15. They wrap up the year with an 18-11 record.
