Christopher Mangrum, who attempted to rob a local pharmacy in early July last year, entered a guilty plea to charges against him during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday and was sentenced to four years in prison, with three suspended.

According to court records, the 43-year-old Mangrum, who lists an address in Hardy, is alleged to have entered the drug store shortly after 2:00 p.m. on July 5th, 2017, with a bandanna over his face and latex gloves on his hands. He is reported to have entered into an employees only area and demanded opiates.

Pharmacy staff did not meet his demands, and he left the building empty-handed, after only about 30 seconds.

Mangrum reportedly did not display a weapon during the incident.

The Mountain Home Police Department issued a be-on-the-lookout bulletin, and Mangrum was stopped at a location along U.S. Highway 62/412 West, about an hour after the BOLO was broadcast.

Mangrum’s mother and two children were in the vehicle at the time he was found and arrested.

He was charged with criminal attempt to commit robbery.

Mangrum was represented by Gray Dellinger of Melbourne.
