Marc Zdan of Mountain Home was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading no contest to a number of charges, including theft by receiving and possession of drug paraphernalia during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday.
According to the probable cause affidavit in the case, Mountain Home police were contacted by a victim in early July reporting the theft of several items from a vehicle, including a motorcycle helmet and jacket.
Several months after the theft, the victim saw the helmet and jacket being advertised for sale on social media. The person selling the items was eventually identified as the 33-year-old Zdan.
The victim contacted Zdan in an attempt to buy the items back but was told they had already been sold.
Investigators determined Zdan had a friend sell the items at a local pawnshop. Video from the shop’s surveillance system shows the friend hand Zdan the cash for the sale.
Zdan was located at his residence. He is alleged to have admitted knowing the helmet and jacket were stolen, but denied he was the one who actually took them.
While at the residence, officers found drug paraphernalia, including digital scales, a marijuana grinder and a glass pipe used for the ingestion of methamphetamine.
In an earlier case, Zdan was given six years probation in late July after pleading guilty to taking a pair of women’s undergarments to give to his girlfriend and for possessing methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
A petition to revoke the suspended sentence handed down in the earlier case was dismissed by the state.
