LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) – Police in Little Rock say a school bus driver was run
over and killed by his own bus after he stepped outside of the vehicle on Monday
afternoon. There were no children on board the bus at the time.

Little Rock police say the Pulaski County Special School District bus driver
was stopped near Treasure Hill Road in Little Rock when the bus began rolling
down a hill. Police Lt. Michael Ford says the driver tried to catch up with the
bus but was struck and killed.

The driver’s name has not been released.

Police are investigating whether any of the vehicle’s equipment was faulty, but
school officials say there were no known mechanical issues with the bus.
