
As Halloween is celebrated Wednesday, it will bring a night filled with children in costumes on the local roadways. Safety of trick-or-treaters is the main concern every year for parents, motorists and law enforcement. Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery has tips for those going out.

Trick-or-treaters are normally out the in the neighborhoods between 5:00 and 9:00 on Halloween. Sheriff Montgomery says there’s no set time for activities to start or end. One thing trick-or-treaters need to watch for is which residences have their front outdoor lights on.
