The Fulton County Hospital Foundation will host its first Boots, Bands & BBQ fundraiser Saturday evening. Volunteers hope to raise at least $25,000 for the hospital’s radiology department to assist in meeting federal mandates and help improve care for the citizens in its service area.Ron Helm of Oxford, president of the foundation, says every even-numbered year, the foundation hosts a gala to raise funds for the hospital. The foundation members wanted to try something new this year, in addition to its popular annual golf tournament.

Helm says Boots, Bands & BBQ is planned as a family-friendly evening of country music and barbecue sponsored by Everett Brothers, Inc.

The event will be held at the Salem Civic Center at the Fulton County Fairgrounds. Doors will open at 5:00.

Recording artists Porter Union of Springfield, a hot new country duo, will take the stage at 6:00, followed by local favorites, Chuck Young and Friends, at 7:00.

The evening includes a silent auction, door prizes, dancing and activities for children.

Individual tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 6-12 and free for children ages 5 and under.

Sponsorships ranging from $50 to $2,500 will help the foundation’s fundraising effort even more.

Event attire is country-western and weekend casual.

Tickets to Boots, Bands & BBQ are available at North Arkansas Electric Cooperative and Fulton County Hospital.
