Details released on Fulton County fatality

Details have been released on a two-vehicle accident in Fulton County that claimed the life of 67-year-old Kathryn Vanliew of Salem on U.S. Highway 62/412 on Oct. 26th.

Arkansas State Police report the accident was investigated by Salem Police Chief Shad Overman. According to the report, the accident occurred as Vanliew’s vehicle was traveling east on Highway 62/412, left the roadway and struck a second vehicle. The second vehicle driven by 45-year-old Andrea Wolverton of Cherokee Village was waiting to pull from Bentwood Lane onto the highway when the crash occurred.

Vanliew’s vehicle struck Wolverton’s in the front left door, causing both to travel down an embankment into a ditch on the south side of the roadway.

Wolverton was transported to Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis following the 9:58 a.m. crash.
