Searcy County crash victims identified

The bodies of two individuals removed from a vehicle discovered by Arkansas State Police troopers along U.S. Highway 65 near Leslie in Searcy County Oct. 29th have been identified.According to a report released Monday by Arkansas State Police, the victims were identified as 28-year-old Jamie Katzenmaier of Sedalia, Missouri and 35-year-old Leslea Shannon of Centerview, Missouri.The date of the crash is listed as Sept. 9th.

At the time the decomposed bodies were discovered, the remains were transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for determination of manner and cause of death.

Information relating to the recovery of the bodies was provided to authorities in Warrensburg, Missouri, who suspected the remains could be those of two individuals reported missing over a month ago.

The report released Monday indicates the vehicle the two were traveling in was southbound on Highway 65 when it left the roadway, struck a tree and overturned.

The weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the 12:30 a.m. crash.
