It was mixed results in Arkansas’s high school playoff action Friday as two area teams hit the gridiron.

Salem watched its season come to an end in the Class 2A State Playoffs. The Greyhounds fell at home to Earle by a final of 36-22. Salem’s final record is 9-2.

Harrison is one win away from a trip to War Memorial Stadium after once again invoking the mercy rule in the Class 5A State Playoffs. The Goblins beat up on Wynne 49-14 in Friday’s quarterfinal at F.S. Garrison Stadium. Harrison is now 12-0 on the season, and they’ll head to Little Rock next week to meet Pulaski Academy in the semifinals.
