Norfork girls win another Arvest Bank Tournament title

The Arvest Bank Tournament came to an end Saturday in Flippin, and once again, Norfork’s girls left with the championship trophy. The Lady Panthers defeated Melbourne by a final of 67-48.
The boys’ title went to Jonesboro Westside. The Warriors beat up on Deer 71-48.
Flippin’s boys fell short of a consolation championship. The host Bobcats lost to Jasper 53-26.
Lead Hill came up short in the girls’ consolation championship contest. The Lady Tigers fell to Kingston 66-61.

Valley Springs had mixed results as both teams played for the championship of the First Service Bank Tournament at Clinton. The Tigers took home the boys’ crown with a 75-63 victory over Greenbrier. Valley Springs did not fare as well in the girls’ contest as they lost to Vilonia 55-45.

Mountain Home’s freshmen girls were victorious in the Highland Classic after beating Southside Batesville 31-27. Annie Norcross led the Junior Lady Bombers with ten points.
Salem’s high school teams also took part in the Highland Classic and had a rough outing as they were swept by Batesville. The Greyhounds fell to the Pioneers 75-39 in the boys’ game, and Batesville also took the girls’ contest 66-38.

Mountain Home’s seventh grade boys went unbeaten in a jamboree at Harrison. The Seventh Grade Bombers beat the host school twice, and they also topped Green Forest.
