High school basketball makes up the local Saturday schedule as Mountain Home’s boys will be among several teams in tournament play. The Bombers will play for the consolation title of the Citizens Bank and Trust Tournament at Van Buren as they meet the host Pointers.
Mountain Home is currently 2-1 on the year after beating Bentonville West on Friday. Van Buren followed with a 16-point win over Clarksville.
Tip-off at Clair Bates Arena is scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday’s game can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
The Equity Bank Bev Stone Border Classic will come to an end at Omaha. The fifth place games will be first as the girls’ teams from Green Forest and Hackett will tip off at 11 a.m., and Lead Hill will meet Hackett at 12:30. Both of Flippin’s teams will play for third place as the Lady Bobcats take on Western Grove at 2:00, and Flippin’s boys face Kingston at 3:30. In the championship games, Lead Hill’s girls will be paired with Omaha at 5:00, and the Omaha boys take on Western Grove at 6:30.
Three local teams will finish action in the Fordland Invitational Tournament. Both of Lutie’s teams will play for fifth place as the Lady Indians face the School of the Ozarks at 10:30, and the boys meet Morrisville at noon. The Dora girls will play for third place at 1:30 against Galena.
Dora’s boys will return to Thayer to continue play in the River Country Chevrolet Classic. The Falcons will be matched up with the host Bobcats at 6:00.
The Izard County boys will compete for the consolation championship of the Barry Pruitt Hurricane Classic at Jonesboro. The Cougars will meet Jonesboro Westside at 1:30.
Marshall’s boys will play their final game in the Logan County Bank Classic at Scranton. The Bobcats take on Johnson County Westside at 11:15.
Valley Springs will finish action in the annual Mini-State at Drew Central High School in Monticello. Both Tiger teams will be paired with the host Pirates.
