
Basketball makes up much of the local Monday schedule as a few more tournaments get underway.
Mammoth Spring will begin hosting the second-annual Battle of the Border Tournament. In girls’ action, Couch and Koshkonong tip off at 3:30, Bakersfield meets the host Lady Bears at 6:00, and Gainesville faces Salem at 8:30. On the boys’ side, Mountain Home Christian Academy takes on Mountain View-Liberty at 4:45, and Bakersfield plays Sloan-Hendrix at 7:15.
Mountain View’s boys will be in Batesville for their first game in the Mark Martin Automotive/Lyon College High School Tournament. The Yellowjackets will be paired with Bald Knob at 6:30 at Becknell Gymnasium.
The Omaha boys will play their first game in the Anstaff Bank Holiday Tournament at Green Forest. The Eagles tip off at 5:30 against West Fork.
In other high school action, Flippin travels to Lead Hill Dora’s girls make the trip to Cabool, and the Melbourne girls head to Imboden to meet Sloan-Hendrix.
On the junior varsity level, Cotter travels to St. Joe.
In junior high basketball, Yellville-Summit hosts Marshall, Izard County entertains Hillcrest, and Valley Springs makes the short trip to Western Grove.
Mountain Home will have four of its junior high squads in front of the home crowd as they face Harrison. The seventh grade girls’ game tips off at 4:30 followed by the seventh grade boys and both eighth grade contests.
