MJ Kim/© MPL Communications Ltd.Paul McCartney has announced that he’ll kick off the 2019 edition of his Freshen Up Tour with a series of South American shows in March. The ex-Beatles star has confirmed four shows on the continent — on March 20 in Santiago, Chile; March 23 in Buenos Aires, Argentina; March 26 in Sao Paulo, Brazil; and March 30 in Curitiba, Brazil.

“What a great way to start 2019 with a trip to Chile!” McCartney says in a statement. “I can’t believe it’s almost five years since our last shows there. We’ve always had such an amazing time on our visits and the people of Chile really know how to party and are always so welcoming.”

Pre-sale tickets will be available on Tuesday, December 4, starting at 10 a.m. local time.

In other news, the rock legend apparently will confirm this week that he’ll play a December 4 show at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin, as part of his 2019 U.S. tour leg. The stadium is the home of the Green Bay Packers, who posted a 15-second video on their Twitter feed that begins with the note “Coming in 2019,” followed by an aerial shot of the venue and then the message, “he will finally take the leap.” The clip then shows McCartney from behind in front of a large crowd, before flashing the show date.

According to Green Bay Press Gazette, the Packers have scheduled a press conference for this Tuesday when they’re expected to announce the concert, which likely will take place in June. The U.S. portion of McCartney’s 2019 trek kicks off May 23 in New Orleans, and Sir Paul will be visiting Midwestern cities near Green Bay in early June.

McCartney currently is touring Europe. Check out his full scheduled at PaulMcCartney.com.
