
Three area boys’ teams competed Saturday morning in the NEA Basketball Tournament at First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro.
Viola ended up falling to Salem by a final fo 67-59. Blaine Marberry and Gage Harris led the Longhorns with 17 points each, and Andrew Cantway added 12. For the Greyhounds, Garrett Romine scored 23 points, Bryson Love had 16, and Gabe Miller chipped in 13.
In the earlier session, Mammoth Spring defeated Crowley’s Ridge Academy 59-38. The Bears were led by Alex Mero with 20 points, and Zack Flynn finished with 13. Mammoth Spring improves to 11-8 on the season, and they’ll meet Cross County in Thursday’s Division I semifinals.
