Captol Records/UMePaul McCartney followed an eventful 2018 by releasing a brand-new song titled “Get Enough” on New Year’s Day. The track, which was co-written and co-produced by OneRepublic‘s Ryan Tedder, is available for purchase now as a digital single and via streaming services, and you also can check it out on McCartney’s official YouTube channel.
Tedder, who collaborated with McCartney on two songs that appeared on Sir Paul’s 2018 studio album, Egypt Station, also contributed backing vocals and programming to “Get Enough.”
The song is an atmospheric piano ballad that features McCartney’s vocals heavily treated with Auto-Tune.
In other news, the former Beatles star shared a New Year’s message for fans on December 31 that reads, “I hope everyone has a really brilliant New Year, with all the fab things they’ve hoped for coming true…And I hope things work out on all the political fronts — that we get more peace than ever, people look after each other and we have a good time!”
McCartney kicks off the 2019 portion of his Freshen Up Tour with a series of South American concerts, starting March 20 in Santiago, Chile. He then will mount a North American leg starting May 23 in New Orleans. Check out his full itinerary at PaulMcCartney.com.
