A Jefferson County man, 40-year-old Jason Hicks of Pine Bluff, has been arrested and charged in connection with allegedly taking numerous vehicle parts from a Baxter County man who gave him use of his shop and tools to repair his vehicle.According to the probable cause affidavit, some time after Hicks and another man repaired their truck the victim discovered some of his tools missing last September. He also found several of his vehicles had been entered, with the hoods up.
The victim then found radiators missing from three vehicles, as well as a new battery from his truck.
Investigators from the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office determined in late August Hicks allegedly sold a radiator, copper wire and a battery at a local recycling center.
The victim was able to identify the radiator belonging to his 1965 van and the recently purchased battery. The copper wire appeared to be from an electrical cord like the victim’s 100-foot missing extension cord.
Hicks has been charged with felony counts of theft of property and breaking or entering, as well as a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief. His bond was set at $5,000.
