
High school basketball schedule makes up the local schedule as Mountain Home has its first road tests of conference play. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will wrap up the week at Paragould.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently 9-6 on the season and 1-1 in the 5A-East after an overtime victory over Greene County Tech on Tuesday. Paragould is 12-3 and 1-1 following a 12-point win over Jonesboro. This will be the second meeting between these two teams this year. The Lady Bombers fell to the Lady Rams 44-35 in the championship game of the First Arkansas Bail Bonds Tournament on December 29th.
The Mountain Home boys are 5-9 on the year and 0-2 in the league. The Bombers are coming off a four-point loss to Tech. Paragould is 5-7 and 0-2. The Rams most recently suffered a 21-point loss to Jonesboro.
Due to the threat of winter weather, the junior varsity games have been cancelled. The girls’ game tips off at 5 p.m. followed by the boys’ contests. Both games can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Elsewhere in the 5A-East, Searcy travels to Marion, Jonesboro makes the trip to Paragould to meet Greene County Tech, and Nettleton heads to West Memphis.
In other high school basketball, Cotter hosts Eureka Springs, Norfork entertains Western Grove, Flippin travels to Decatur, Gainesville’s boys make the short trip to Dora, Lutie is home against Chadwick, Viola hosts St. Joe, Calico Rock entertains Omaha, Melbourne heads to Marmaduke, Marshall is home against Clinton, Timbo travels to Shirley, Mountain View hosts Bergman for Homecoming, Lead Hill entertains Green Forest, Valley Springs is home against Rose Bud, and Jasper hosts Deer.
