2 Izard County teachers achieve National Board Certification

Two Izard County School District teachers have achieved National Board Certification.

Kindergarten teacher Vicky Norton is certified in early and middle childhood literacy, while third and fourth grade science teacher Courtney Selph is certified as an early childhood generalist.

Norton and Selph are two of only 103 acr0ss Arkansas who certified in 2018 as National Board Certified Teachers.

They join the ranks of just over 3,200 National Board Certified Teachers in Arkansas.

Izard County Consolidated School District has one additional NBCT. Elementary Principal Eve Hatman is certified in early and middle childhood literacy.

Retired NBCT Hugh Chapman is certified in early adolescent through young adulthood career and technical education.

These four teachers are part of only six NBCTs in Izard County.
