MHHS basketball teams to host Marion Tuesday

High school basketball makes up much of the local Tuesday schedule as conference play continues for Mountain Home. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will return to the Hangar as they meet Marion.
Mountain Home’s girls are currently 9-7 on the season and 1-2 in the 5A-East. The Lady Bombers are coming off a three-point loss at Paragould. Marion is 10-7 and 2-1. The Lady Patriots invoked the mercy rule Friday on Searcy.
The Mountain Home boys are 6-9 overall and 1-2 in the league. The Bombers picked up a five-point win at Paragould on Friday. Marion is 10-3 and 3-0. The Patriots most recently edged out Searcy.
The junior varsity games tip off at 5 p.m. The varsity contests begin around 6:00 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Elsewhere in the 5A-East, Searcy travels to Paragould to face Greene County Tech, Jonesboro hosts West Memphis, and Nettleton entertains Paragould.

Both of Bakersfield’s teams will play in the semifinals of the Cabool Classic. The Lady Lions will compete in the old gym as they will be paired with Koshkonong. The Bakersfield boys will go up against Laquey in the new gym. Both games tip off at 7:00.

Two local girls’ teams will be in action at the Thayer Winter Classic. Viola tips off at 6:00 against Willow Springs, and Mammoth Spring takes on Houston at 7:15.

Mammoth Spring’s boys will be in Mountain View, Missouri, for their first game in the 48th-annual Liberty Invitational Varsity Tournament. The Bears will play Winona at 8:30.

In other high school basketball, Cotter makes the trip to Yellville-Summit, Flippin is home against Haas Hall Academy, Bruno-Pyatt hosts Omaha, the Lutie boys entertain Ava, Dora’s boys head to Mountain Grove, Salem travels to Lake City for three boys’ games with Riverside, Calico Rock is home against Izard County, Melbourne hosts Buffalo Island Central for two boys’ contests, the St. Joe boys entertain Lead Hill, Marshall makes the trip to Green Forest, Timbo is home against Guy-Perkins, Mountain View heads to Clinton, Rural Special travels to Greers Ferry to meet West Side, Bergman hosts Valley Springs, and Jasper makes the trip to Fayetteville to face the New School.
