Mountain Home School Board approves school calendar for 2019-20

The Mountain Home School Board held its regular monthly meeting Thursday night. Among the items the board discussed was the school calendar for the 2019-20 school year. Superintendent Dr. Jake Long says the calendar the board approved is similar to those of the last several years.

The district will apply for five AMI days to be used in case of inclement weather. Past that, days would be added to the end of the year.

The board also voted to extend the contract of Superintendent Long. His contract now runs through the 2021-22 school year.

January is School Board Appreciation Month, and members of the board were honored prior to the meeting at a reception. Dr. Long says the board members aren’t paid, but they play a vital role in the school system.
