Basketball makes up the local Monday schedule and includes several area teams beginning tournament play.
Dora’s boys go to Mountain Grove as the top seed in the Family Pharmacy Panther Classic. The Falcons will face Willow Springs at 6 p.m.
The Izard County Invitational Basketball Tournament will include makeup games, and Monday’s action will be split in two locations.
At Melbourne, the junior girls’ games include Izard County and Rural Special tipping off at 3:30, and Salem takes on Calico Rock at 5:30. In the other games, Calico Rock’s junior boys will play Rural Special at 4:30, the Salem senior girls will meet Rural Special at 6:30, and Calico Rock’s senior boys will face Rural Special at 7:45.
The remainder of Monday’s games have been moved to Mount Pleasant. The junior boys’ game between Salem and Melbourne will begin at 5:00, the Mammoth Spring junior girls take on Highland at 6:00, and the senior girls’ contest between Highland and Cave City is set for 7:00.
In other high school basketball, Flippin travels to Timbo, St. Joe’s boys make the trip to Eureka Springs, Lead Hill hosts Alpena, and Jasper entertains Mount Judea.
On the junior high level, Cotter is home against Yellville-Summit, Norfork heads to Viola, and Mountain View hosts Bergman.
