The clip, which can be viewed at the band’s official YouTube channel, features a montage of graphically enhanced photos — both recent and vintage — of Toto performing live. “Devil’s Tower” is a melodic, prog-rock-influenced song that dates back to the sessions for the group’s smash 1982 album Toto IV.
As guitarist Steve Lukather explains, “We originally recorded this track with [late members] Mike and Jeff Porcaro back in 1981…We never recorded a lead vocal or had lyrics for this one, so [current frontman] Joseph [Williams] finished it up for us recently.”
“Devil’s Tower” also can be purchased as a digital single and is available via streaming services.
Toto kicks off a 2019 Japan leg of its 40 Trips Around the Sun tour on February 14 in Hiroshima. The band also has a one-off concert in Indonesia on March 3, and will tour Europe in June and July.
Toto will return to North America for a trek dubbed “An Evening With” this fall.
