JONESBORO, Ark. (AP)   Authorities in northeastern Arkansas say a 27-year-old man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for fatally shooting another man one year ago.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that Jamie Pernell Horns pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and possession of a firearm in the shooting death of 68-year-old Lenard Sumner.

Officials say Sumner was fatally shot on Jan. 25, 2018, at his home in West Memphis.

Prosecutors say Horns allegedly shot Sumner in the chest following an argument. Authorities say Sumner then returned fire, injuring Horns.

Horns received a 30-year sentence earlier this month on the murder charge and a concurrent 20-year sentence on the firearm’s charge.
