MH to start 2nd half of conference play at Jonesboro

High school basketball makes up the local Friday schedule as the second half of conference play begins for Mountain Home. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will make their second consecutive road trip as they face Jonesboro.
Both girls’ teams are among a four-way tie for second place in the 5A-East with league records of 4-3. Mountain Home is 12-8 on the season after squeaking by West Memphis a week ago. Jonesboro dropped to 13-7 after getting edged out by Marion. The Lady Bombers fell to the Lady Hurricane 40-30 on January 4th.
Mountain Home’s boys are 7-12 overall and 2-5 in the conference after losing at West Memphis last Friday. Jonesboro is 14-6 and 5-2 as they come off a defeat at Marion. The Bombers fell to the Golden Hurricane 56-42 nearly a month ago.
The junior varsity games begin at 4:30 at the Don Riggs Memorial Gymnasium. The varsity contests will get underway around 6:00 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Elsewhere in the 5A-East, Searcy hosts Paragould, Nettleton entertains Greene County Tech, and Marion is home against West Memphis.

In other high school action, Norfork makes the trip to Bakersfield, Flippin hosts Decatur, the Gainesville boys head to Norwood, Lutie travels to Hurley, Dora’s boys entertain Hartville, Viola is home against Lead Hill for Senior Night, Salem travels to Melbourne for three boys’ games, Calico Rock hosts Concord, Izard County entertains Rural Special for Senior Night, St. Joe is home against Shirley for Senior Night, Marshall makes the trip to Bergman, Mountain View heads to Rose Bud, Valley Springs travels to Jasper, and Omaha makes the trip to Western Grove.

Cotter was scheduled to play at Eureka Springs but those games have been moved to Monday night.
