A Lakeview man, who was a no-show for an appearance during a special session of Baxter County Circuit Court Wednesday, was arrested and jailed Saturday on a failure to appear warrant.
Twenty-three-year-old Kevin Gerts was charged with stealing almost $400 from the grandmother of his girlfriend by using information taken from her bank debit card.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Gerts was alleged to have used the stolen information to make four Western Union transactions on different dates in May last year.
Gerts had the money sent to a friend and neighbor of his.
He faces four felony counts of forgery and four counts of misdemeanor theft of property.
The victim reported the unauthorized transactions to law enforcement after seeing them on a printout from her bank.
When Gerts was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center, he was listed as having a no bond hold.
