
Monday will be a busy night for basketball in the Twin Lakes Area.
On the high school level, Cotter has make up action at Eureka Springs, Bakersfield’s girls host Summersville, the Gainesville girls entertain Fordland, Lutie is home against Chadwick, and Dora’s boys travel to Myrtle to meet Couch.
Four of Mountain Home’s junior high teams will be in Jonesboro for an outing with Nettleton. The eighth grade girls’ game tips off at 4:30 followed by the eighth grade boys and both freshmen contests.
Several other area junior high teams will be in postseason play.
The 1A-2 Junior District Tournament continues at Omaha. In girls’ action, top-seeded Viola and Lead Hill will tip off at 4 p.m., and Bruno-Pyatt faces Izard County at 6:30. On the boys’ bracket, Lead Hill takes on Omaha at 5:15, and Izard County will be paired with Western Grove at 7:45.
A pair of area girls teams will face off in the 1A-5 Junior District Tournament at Rural Special High School in Fox. Timbo will play the host and top-seeded Junior Lady Rebels at 5:00.
Two local girls’ teams will open the 2A-3 Junior District Tournament at Buffalo Island Central High School in Monette. Salem faces the host Junior Lady Mustangs at 4:30, and top-seeded Melbourne takes on Bay at 7:00.
The 3A-1 East Junior District Tournament will get underway at Rose Bud. Mountain View will play a doubleheader against Green Forest starting with the girls’ game at 5:00, and the Marshall girls will be matched up with Clinton at 7:30.
