The fifth Annual Empty Bowls to Feed the Hungry event is set for Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at Mountain Home High School. The event, sponsored by several groups from Mountain Home High School, is a fundraising endeavor for the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas.

Jeff Quick, president and chief executive officer of the Food Bank, says those who attend will have a chance to take home a unique item from the students and have a great meal.

The meal will include soup, crackers, dessert and a drink.

Quick says the event is more than just a fundraiser. It’s an educational opportunity for the MHHS students.

With one in three children in the food bank’s service area at risk of not knowing where their next meal will come from, Quick says he often receives feedback at events like Empty Bowls from those who know firsthand about food insecurity.
