
Officers from the Searcy County Sheriff’s Office and the 20th Judicial District Drug Task Force found their suspect on the floor of his bedroom when they arrived Monday to execute a search warrant.
According to the probable cause affidavit, officers first requested an ambulance for 63-year-old Kenneth Harris of Harriet, after he told them he fell out of his bed and asked for medical attention.
After Harris was transported from the scene by medical personnel, officers searched a black box on the floor beside where they had found the Searcy County man.
Inside the box, they discovered approximately 8 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, a pill bottle with Harris’ name on it containing marijuana, and unlabeled bottles containing morphine and Clonazepam pills. Hydrocodone pills were also located on the bed.
Harris is facing felony charges of possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a controlled substance, morphine; possession of a controlled substance, hydrocodone; and operating a drug premises, along with two drug-related misdemeanor counts.
His bond was set at $40,000.
