With continued temperatures near and below the freezing mark, advocates for the homeless in the Twin Lakes Area are seeking financial support for those at risk of frost bite, hypothermia ore even death.
Four area organizations have issued an emergency alert saying the freezing weather threatens the lives of the homeless. They are appealing to the community for tax-deductible donations to cover the cost of hotel rooms.
Under the heading Hope for All, representatives of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, First United Methodist Church, Care Center Ministries and Gerald Caster, advocate for the homeless, are asking for the community’s support.
Those wanting to support the cause should call 870-481-5197 or 870-421-0923.
