MHHS basketball teams return home to face Paragould

High school basketball makes up the local Friday schedule as Mountain Home returns to the Hangar for the first time in 2 1/2 weeks. The Bombers and Lady Bombers will welcome Paragould to the Twin Lakes Area.
Mountain Home’s girls moved into a three-way tie for third place in the 5A-East Tuesday as they improved to 13-9 on the season and 5-4 in the league with an eight-point win at Greene County Tech. Paragould is second in the conference at 16-6 and 6-3 after squeaking by Jonesboro. This will be the third meeting between these two girls’ teams. The Lady Rams won the previous two games including a 42-39 decision over the Lady Bombers on January 11th.
The Mountain Home boys are 7-14 overall and 2-7 in conference play as they come off a two-point loss at Tech. Paragould is 6-14 and 0-9 after losing to Jonesboro. The Bombers got past the Rams 45-40 nearly a month ago.
The junior varsity girls’ game tips off at 5 p.m. The varsity contests begin around 6:00 and can be heard on Classic Hits 101.7 and streaming live at ktlo.com.
Elsewhere in the 5A-East, Searcy hosts Marion, Jonesboro entertains Tech, and Nettleton is home against West Memphis.

In other high school action, Cotter travels to Marshall, Norfork hosts Jasper, Flippin entertains Western Grove, Yellville-Summit makes the short trip to Eros to face Bruno-Pyatt, Bakersfield is home against Couch for Homecoming, Gainesville’s boys host Mainsfield, Lutie entertains Koshkonong, the Dora boys head to Norwood, Viola travels to Lynn to meet Hillcrest, Salem’s girls make the trip to Pocahontas, Mammoth Spring heads to Lake City to take on Riverside, Calico Rock travels to Shirley, Izard County is home against Clinton, the St. Joe boys make the trip to Fox to play Rural Special, Lead Hill heads to Deer, Bergman hosts Atkins for Senior Night, Valley Springs travels to Alpena, and Omaha makes the trip to Kingston.
