Cotter splits with Marshall; Norfork splits with Jasper

Cotter’s high school basketball teams had mixed results Friday at Marshall.
The Warriors took the boys’ game over the Bobcats 76-68. Dylan Dwyer was Cotter’s top scorer with 18 points, Cole Adams had 17, Tucker Coots provided 13 points, and Isaac Jones added 11.
Cotter did not fare as well in the girls’ contest. The Lady Warriors fell to Marshall by a final of 65-36.

Norfork ended up with a split at home against Jasper. The Lady Panthers squeaked by the Lady Pirates 59-58. It was a different result in the boys’ game as Norfork lost to Jasper 56-45.

Flippin also had a home split as they took on Western Grove. The Lady Bobcats topped the Lady Warriors 52-43. Flippin was not as fortunate in the boys’ contest as they fell to Western Grove 57-45.

Yellville-Summit’s boys had a good night on a short road trip. The Panthers defeated Bruno-Pyatt 57-42.

Friday was a rough night at home for the Gainesville boys. The Bulldogs lost to Mansfield 87-62.

Dora’s boys picked up another dominating win on the road. The Falcons destroyed Norwood 65-28.

Viola went to Lynn on Friday to meet Hillcrest. The Lady Longhorns doubled up the Lady Screamin’ Eagles 56-28. The Viola boys did not fare as well as they fell to Hillcrest 70-49.

Salem’s girls wrapped up their regular season with a tough road trip. The Lady Greyhounds lost to Pocahontas 43-21.

Mammoth Spring ended up splitting with Riverside at Lake City.
The Bears invoked the mercy rule in the boys’ game as they routed the Rebels 65-30. Cole Young paced Mammoth Spring with 21 points, and Alex Mero chipped in 15. The Bears improve to 19-15 on the season.
The girls’ contest had a different result as they fell to Riverside 61-31. The Lady Bears were led by Terra Godwin with 11 points. Mammoth Spring drops to 12-15 on the year.

Izard County had mixed results as they hosted Clinton.
The mercy rule went in effect in the boys’ game as the Cougars pounded the Yellowjackets 91-56. Justus Cooper was Izard County’s leading scorer with 30 points, Coby Everett finished with 23, and Caleb Faulkner added 13. The Cougars’ record is now 33-4.
Izard County’s girls were not as fortunate as they lost to Clinton 51-38. Bethany Simmons led the Lady Cougars with 14 points. Izard County falls to 19-16 on the season.

The Lead Hill girls wrapped up the regular season with a road victory. The Lady Tigers beat Deer 60-45.

Bergman split its Senior Night games with Atkins. The boys’ game ended with the Panthers defeating the Red Devils 64-46. Bergman’s girls did not fare as well as they fell to Atkins 49-44.

Omaha swept its regular season finales at Kingston. The Lady Eagles dominated the Lady Yellowjackets 58-35. The Omaha boys edged out Kingston 66-62.
