A Lakeview man was given six years probation and time in the Baxter County jail during a session of Baxter County Circuit Court Thursday after admitting he had used information taken off the bank debit card of his girlfriend’s grandmother to steal almost $400.

Twenty-three-year-old Kevin Andrew Gerts faced four felony counts of forgery and four counts of misdemeanor theft of property.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Gerts used the stolen bank card information to make four Western Union wire transfers in May of last year.

Gerts had the money sent to a friend and neighbor of his.

The victim reported the unauthorized transactions to law enforcement, after seeing them on a printout from her bank.
