
PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) Officials in Jefferson County expect an economic boost once a new medical marijuana cultivation facility is up and running.
Jefferson County will be home to one of five cultivation facilities in the state for medical marijuana, which voters authorized in 2016 . Caleb McMahon, who is director of economic development for the Economic Development Alliance for Jefferson County, says the new facility is expected to generate about $2 million per month in revenue.
Owners say the Jefferson County facility should have marijuana ready by April.
McMahon says the two dispensaries to be located in Pine Bluff are also expected to bring in about $2 million a month.
According to the Pine Bluff Commercial , the new facilities are expected to create dozens of new jobs in the county.
