The Arkansas ELKS State Hoop Shoot Contest was held Saturday at Hot Springs, and three local residents came away as champions.
Myah McNutt of Cotter won the girls’ eight-to-nine age group after sinking 16 of 25 free throws. Pinkston Middle School’s Chace Berwald hit all 25 of his shots at the charity stripe to win the boys’ 10-to-11 division. Samantha Greenhaw of Flippin was the girls’ winner for ages 12 and 13 after going 22 of 25 from the line.
McNutt, Berwald and Greenhaw all qualified for the Central Region 9 ELKS Hoop Shoot Semifinal scheduled for Saturday, March 16th, in Paducah, Kentucky.
